Our History
The Mayuzumis are a multigenerational mushroom-growing family from Gunma Prefecture, a mountainous region of Japan. In the 1970s, Fumimaru Mayuzumi discovered his proprietary strain of red reishi during one of his many foraging trips in Gunma. With this perfect strain, he pioneered natural wood-log cultivation to commercially grow red reishi—a feat considered impossible for centuries.
Since that discovery, the Mayuzumi family has remained dedicated to sharing the healing benefits of red reishi with the world.
